Abijah's

Abijah's Logo

Abijah’s provides a first-of-its-kind experiential equestrian mental health program using retired Off-Track Thoroughbred race horses based at Canterbury Park. The program works to address the mental health crisis of backside track workers and jockeys, as well as military, first responders and the public suffering with PTSD, addiction, depression, trauma, anxiety, eating disorders and more. While Canterbury Park is the first racetrack in the country to partner with the program, Abijah’s plans to expand to other tracks in the near future.

When we heard about the incredible work they were doing, we knew we wanted to be part of it. Bellmont Partners took Abijah’s on as a pro bono client in 2023 to share what they are doing with the media, racetrack attendees, the racing industry and potential sponsors and donors.

Media Relations

Secured radio, print and television interviews in local news outlets, as well as stories in the top racing industry publications including Bloodhorse and The Paulick Report generating an audience of nearly 2.2 million.

Legislative Collateral

Developed legislative collateral that contributed to the program receiving $250,000 in appropriations through the Jobs, Labor & Economic Development budget during the latest legislative session. These funds will be used to provide free therapy to first responders, firefighters and police officers.

Content Creation

Worked with the team on video scripts and print advertisements to reach visitors at Canterbury Park.
