Account Executive, Technology & Manufacturing

Twin Cities public relations agency Bellmont Partners, winner of multiple “Best Places to Work” awards, is seeking a new full-time team member to add to our growing Technology & Manufacturing practice group. We’re looking for a strong communicator with approximately three to six years of professional communications experience who is passionate about supporting clients in technical fields and B2B communications. Past agency experience is a plus.

In this role, you will work on some of Bellmont Partners’ largest accounts, creating and implementing award-winning PR campaigns on a local, national and global scale. Working alongside a talented team of PR professionals, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in everything from media relations to tradeshow support, thought leadership, social media, crisis management, messaging and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day-to-day responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Client and Account Team Support – 85%

  • Serve as a core member of approximately three to five account teams, completing assignments as directed by account leads
  • With support and coaching from senior team members, begin or continue growing account management and client service skills, such as communicating progress and ideas to clients, responding to client requests, scheduling and participating in meetings, setting and adhering to deadlines, offering day-to-day support to clients and internal teams, helping troubleshoot any challenges, driving results that align with client objectives, and assisting in managing budgets and compiling invoices as needed
  • Develop and update client status reports, project trackers, content calendars, meeting agendas, meeting notes or other account management materials as needed
  • Draft materials for client projects in areas including earned media (e.g., media pitches, news releases, media kit materials, etc.), thought leadership (e.g., bylined articles, award and speaking nominations, etc.), owned media (e.g., social media posts, website copy, blog posts, newsletter copy, marketing collateral, etc.), special events (e.g., trade shows, client-hosted events, etc.) and occasionally paid media (e.g., ad copy or scripts, paid social media posts, influencer relations, etc.)
  • Conduct client research, including developing media lists, interviewing subject matter experts, etc.
  • Monitor for client coverage and other metrics/KPIs on multiple platforms and maintain results trackers

Business Development – 5%

  • Assist in business development efforts, including helping maintain information in internal files and databases, conducting research on new prospects, drafting case studies, and participating in internal planning meetings and prospect presentations as needed
  • With support and coaching from senior team members, contribute to efforts to develop proposals and decks
  • Work to establish, maintain and expand professional network

Professional Development/Operations/Administrative/Paid Volunteer Time – 10%

  • Work with manager to establish individual professional development goals that align with the agency’s overall annual goals and your areas of interest; make consistent progress toward goals through professional development events and resources, seeking out additional projects to flex new skills
  • Participate in staff meetings, one-on-one check-ins with manager, and other agency meetings and events
  • Complete personal administrative tasks in a timely manner, including weekly time entry, monthly expense reports, etc.
  • If interested, seek out volunteer opportunities that align with personal and professional goals and areas of interest, using Bellmont Gives Back hours (paid volunteer time)

  • Salary range: $53,000 to $63,000 DOE

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Three to six years of experience in the communications field, ideally with a strong focus on account management, client service, media relations, content development, monitoring, and/or within the technology and manufacturing fields; past PR agency experience is a plus
  • Strong writing skills, with the ability to translate technical language to easily digestible copy
  • Based in or able to relocate to Minnesota
