Honoring Fallen Firefighters

Minnesota Fire Service Foundation Memorial 2Did you know that 194 Minnesota firefighters have died in the line of duty since 1883? A small memorial to those fallen heroes has stood near the baggage claim at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport for more than 20 years. The Minnesota Fire Service Foundation recently launched a campaign to raise $600,000 to build a larger, more accessible memorial on the grounds of the State Capitol, where families, friends and communities can pay proper tribute.

Bellmont Partners is helping to spread the word about the effort through media outreach. George Esbensen, Foundation President and Eden Prairie Fire Chief, has been a wonderful asset to the group by acting as spokesperson. Stories about the effort have appeared on FOX 9, WDIO, WCCO 4, KARE 11, WCCO-AM, KWOA-AM and other media outlets throughout the state. Here’s some of the coverage so far:
