The mobile trucking intelligence revolution pulled into Minneapolis last month for the annual XRS User Event (XUE), where 300 experts from the trucking and technology industries gathered to discuss new trends in this rapidly changing marketplace.
Bellmont Partners has been working with XRS for more than two years, helping the company garner a disproportionate share of voice among trucking trade media. Editors are hungry to learn more about how technology providers plan to address the upcoming MAP-21 regulations for data recording and reporting, mandated by Congress in 2012.
XRS made two major announcements at XUE, and Bellmont Partners drafted the announcements and invited key editors to attend XUE and hear it first-hand, while directing news announcements to a tightly focused list of trucking industry insiders who ran with both stories.
The first announcement underscored the company’s leadership position in technology development and integration by highlighting the new XRS collaboration with Samsung Fleet, which will deliver the industry’s first integrated device and software package for compliance and performance. This news drew praise from industry insiders, media representatives and investors alike, as shares of XRS (NASDAQ: XRSC) hit a 52-week high on the day of the announcement. See several of the top resulting stories on Commercial Carrier Journal, Fleet Owner, Heavy Duty Trucking, Transport Topics and more.
The second announcement further demonstrated the company’s prominence as a thought leader, as XRS Chairman and CEO Jay Coughlan presented findings from the company’s newest white paper on the convergence of technology forces in trucking, backed by research from Gartner. Not only did the new white paper receive prominent trade coverage (view a few of the top articles here and here), but several publications are also planning to run bylined articles from Mr. Coughlan on the subject during the next few months.
Though it seemed impossible to out-do last year’s XUE, where XRS announced a comprehensive re-branding initiative, including a company name-change, XUE 2013 was well-attended and garnered a significant amount of attention among trucking trade publications and decision-makers. And speaking of last year’s rebranding, we’re proud to announce that XRS and Bellmont Partners, along with strategic partner Rumpza Consulting, have been named a finalist for a PR News 2013 Platinum PR Award in the re-branding/re-positioning category. The awards program, which honors top PR initiatives in more than 40 categories, recognizes corporations, agencies and nonprofits—both large and small—that took chances, made tremendous strides in their communications efforts and understand the power of public relations. Winners will be announced on October 15, 2013.
The 2013 XUE event was a perfect venue for building upon the positive momentum XRS had achieved earlier this year, and Bellmont Partners is looking forward to a continued role in helping XRS meet and exceed its PR and marketing goals for 2013 and beyond.
