Angel Awards Gala PR Campaign Drives Record-Setting Night

More than 600 guests attended the 11th annual Angel Awards Gala at the Hilton Minneapolis Jan. 26.

Bellmont Partners’ PR campaign for Angel Foundation’s 11th annual Angel Awards Gala culminated in a record-setting celebration Jan. 26 at the Minneapolis Hilton, reaching new heights in ticket sales and fundraising. The event is the largest fundraiser for Angel Foundation, which has provided $3 million in emergency financial assistance and, through all of its programs, has helped 18,000 adults with cancer since 2001.

“Desperate Housewives” star James Denton was the gala’s emcee and participated in numerous media interviews promoting the event and discussing Angel Foundation’s important mission.

Brian Leighton of the popular Minnesota band GB Leighton and a cancer survivor himself, wrote a song for Angel Foundation, which debuted live that night at the Hilton and earlier in the day on iTunes. A portion of the song’s proceeds will benefit Angel Foundation.

Bellmont Partners’ campaign included a promotional video, media relations, media training, social media consulting and ongoing strategic counsel. The campaign resulted in feature stories in the Star Tribune and Pioneer Press, and appearances on FM 107.1, K-TWIN, KARE 11 News, Twin Cities Live and Fox 9.

Bellmont Partners client Kim Brown, president of JNBA Financial Advisors and co-chair of the Angel Awards Gala, introduces Brian Leighton of GB Leighton at the VIP party.
